Counselling

I provide counselling to meet the challenges of everyday life, unearth your potential and connect with your authentic Self. I subscribe to the Jungian model of the psyche and prioritize a respect for the unconscious. Sessions are tailored to your needs, goals, and time and financial capacity.

I draw from various counselling modalities and techniques, mindfully chosen to suit each client and situation. How much Somatic work is included depends on the client’s comfort level, goals and typology, however I encourage all my clients to develop and expand their felt sense through maintaining an awareness of the body throughout the session.

What we may work together on:

  • self-esteem & self-worth

  • relationship issues

  • life transitions

  • identity crises

  • anxiety & depression

  • eating disorders & body dysmorphia

  • grief

  • chronic illness & pain

  • trauma

Many folks come to counselling simply to understand themselves better, gain insight, or navigate the challenges of everyday life. My approach does not aim to “fix”, but rather increase self-awareness and resiliency so we may weather life’s difficulties and fully experience its joys.

I am a recent graduate under supervision, and am therefore offering services at a reduced rate. As such insurance reimbursement is not available at this time.

Online sessions: $90/50 mins

In Person Sessions: $90/50 mins, offered at Wholistic Osteopathy in downtown Vancouver.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy brings the mind and body together to resolve persistent somatic symptoms and gain a deeper understanding of oneself. I provide a container for you to explore how movement and bodily sensation relates to your unconscious, and how to use these practices to foster self-awareness, self-regulation, and embodied dignity.

My coaching is trauma-responsive, body positive/neutral, anti-diet and anti-ageist. I worked in physical rehab settings for many years and have a deep understanding of how physical symptoms affect your mental health, and vice versa.

This practice is for you if you struggle with:

  • finding the motivation to get enough movement in your life

  • feeling comfortable in traditional fitness spaces

  • persistent physical symptoms that prevent you from enjoying movement

  • nervous system & psychosomatic issues

  • body image issues or disordered eating

  • chronic fatigue & chronic pain

  • using movement & exercise as punishment instead of nourishment

This type of work can also be helpful for folks who would like to engage in therapeutic work but have found traditional therapy modalities unhelpful.

My therapeutic style blends different Somatic, movement and psychological modalities according to the needs of the client, including but not limited to: strength training, expressive arts, active imagination, breath work, dance, and play.

“This is your body, your greatest gift, pregnant with wisdom you do not hear, grief you thought was forgotten, and joy you have never known.”
